Investigation of Flight 370 showed Malaysia government’s true colors, and Beijing is miffed

China-Malaysian ties appear to have become an unintended casualty of the tragedy revolving around the disappearance of Malaysian Airlines Flight 370.

Senior Chinese officials have made no secret of their dissatisfaction with the search and rescue operation handled by the Malaysian government.

President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang placed personal calls to Prime Minister Najib Razak urging Malaysian investigators to be more forthcoming with their investigations. PLA Chief of the General Staff Gen. Fang Fenghui also called upon military authorities in Malaysia to express Chinese concerns.
