Censorship is not freedom.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-148641 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.worldtribune.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/eudsa.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"259\" \/>By breaking with the globalist consensus on geopolitical, economic and cultural policy issues, the Administration is establishing a new context and ground rules for international relations that involve the United States.<\/p>\n<p>Vice President JD Vance has been an outspoken critic of Europe\u2019s speech and AI regulations.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the Artificial Intelligence Action Summit in Paris earlier this year, Vance charged that the DSA forces tech companies to engage in heavy-handed content removal and misinformation policing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe AI future is not going to be won by hand-wringing about safety,\u201d Vance said. \u201cIt will be won by building \u2013 from reliable power plants to the manufacturing facilities that can produce the chips of the future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Days later at the Munich Security Conference, Vance accused European leaders of using \u201cSoviet-style\u201d tactics to silence dissent. \u201cIt looks more and more like old, entrenched interests hiding behind ugly Soviet-era words like \u2018misinformation\u2019 and \u2018disinformation,\u2019 \u201d Vance said at the time, warning that such measures could be used to suppress political opposition.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">Related<\/span>: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldtribune.com\/trumps-ai-executive-order-called-strategic-breakthrough-against-toxic-big-tech-bias\/ \" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #b32b2b;\">Trump\u2019s AI executive order called \u2018strategic breakthrough\u2019 against toxic Big Tech bias <\/span><\/a><\/strong>, <span style=\"color: #808080;\"><em>July 29, 2025<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Secretary of State Marco Rubio defended Vance during a Face the Nation interview in February, rejecting claims that free speech rhetoric could be dangerous. \u201cWhy would our allies or anybody be irritated by free speech and by someone giving their opinion? We are, after all, democracies,\u201d Rubio said.<\/p>\n<p>Federal Communications Commission chief Brendan Carr has also weighed in, telling the Mobile World Congress in March that the DSA\u2019s monitoring of online content is \u201cincompatible with our free speech tradition.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Last month, President Donald Trump signed three executive orders implementing his AI agenda. One measure bars the federal government from procuring AI systems infused with what the administration calls \u201cpartisan bias or ideological agendas,\u201d explicitly naming critical race theory as an example.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom now on, the US government will deal only with AI that pursues truth, fairness and strict impartiality,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n<p>Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy Michael Kratsios said the U.S. will not follow Europe\u2019s \u201cinnovation-killing regulatory path.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFederal agencies will now review their rules on the books and repeal those that hinder AI development and deployment across industries, from financial services and agriculture to health and transportation,\u201d Kratsios said.<\/p>\n<p>AI and crypto czar for the Trump administration David Sacks stressed that systems must remain \u201ctruth-seeking and trustworthy,\u201d without pursuing \u201csocially engineered agendas.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">In Europe, thousands are being convicted for the crime of criticizing their own governments.
