Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s lavish Florence wedding plans have been slammed by a modern descendant of the Medici family.
Prince Ottaviano de’Medici di Toscana, whose family built Forte di Belvedere on a hill overlooking the Italian city back in the 16th century, has hit out at the superstar couple, and revealed he is intending to lodge a complaint with UNESCO, the body which has listed the building as a world heritage site.
The prince, 57, who is also an insurance broker, said many people in the Renaissance city are “disgusted” to see the Kimye wedding circus come to Florence, and suggested the event will represent a “danger to the cultural integrity and historical authenticity” of the region.
Kim and Kanye are believed to have shelled out €300,000 for the venue, and were spotted arriving in Florence on Saturday afternoon alongside the Kardashian-Jenner brigade and an army of their superstar pals.
