Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis blasted Kamala Harris after the Democrat presidential candidate sought to inject herself into Florida’s preparations for Hurricane Milton.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis noted how Kamala Harris had not previously called about Florida storms.

Harris on Monday accused DeSantis of “playing political games,” after she claimed the Florida governor did not take her phone calls to discuss hurricane relief.

“Playing political games at this moment in these crisis situations — these are the height of emergency situations — is just utterly irresponsible and it is selfish and it is about political gamesmanship,” Harris told reporters.

DeSantis said he wasn’t aware Harris was trying to reach him: “I didn’t know that she had called. I’m not sure who they called. They didn’t call me. It wasn’t anything that anybody in my office did, in terms of saying it was political.”

The governor later appeared on Sean Hannity’s prime-time Fox News show on Monday and blasted Harris, pointing out that she had never reached out in previous storms.

“She has no role in this,” DeSantis said. “She’s the first one who is trying to politicize the storm. And she’s doing that just because of her campaign.”

DeSantis said Harris was “trying to get some type of an edge. She knows she is doing poorly. And so she is playing these political games. I don’t have time for political games. I’ve got people whose lives are on the line.”
