Pam Bondi out after failing to prosecute Obama-Biden era weaponization of government

On her first day in office as U.S. Attorney General, Pam Bondi established a “Weaponization Working Group” to address the abuses, misconduct, and politicization of the Justice Department in the Obama-Biden era.

Bondi stated she intended to end “the weaponization of justice.”

Did she even come close?

President Donald Trump on Wednesday fired Bondi after praising her impact on crime and calling her a friend.

The president had for months pointed to Bondi’s faltering prosecutions of those who weaponized government in an attempt to keep him out of the White House and those who tried to imprison him, including New York Attorney General Letitia James and disgraced former FBI Director James Comey for alleged illegal conduct ranging from mortgage fraud to lying to Congress.

One day before telling Bondi she was fired, Trump questioned the lack of prosecutions of members of the since-disbanded Democrat-led House Select Committee on Jan. 6 whom Joe Biden’s autopen pardoned before leaving office.

In December, the president declared any pardon signed by autopen “of no Legal effect” — setting up potential test-cases involving people such as former Rep. Liz Cheney, whom he accused in February on social media of “the crime of deleting and destroying ALL evidence having to do with the January 6th investigation.”

In September, Trump noted in a post to Truth Social that Bondi had failed to bring charges against Comey, Democrat Sen. Adam Schiff or James, who the president said were all “guilty as hell, but nothing is going to be done.”

Within days, federal prosecutors indicted Comey for making false statements to Congress about the FBI’s Trump-Russia collusion investigation.

James was hit with an indictment last October for allegedly committing mortgage fraud by purchasing a home in Norfolk, Virginia that she listed as a primary residence but rented out to one of her nieces.

Neither of the cases stuck after being brought in the Eastern District of Virginia after a judge ruled that interim U.S. Attorney Lindsey Halligan had been unlawfully appointed before pursuing the cases against Comey and James.

Schiff and Democrat Rep. Eric Swalwell, who were also referred to the Justice Department for alleged mortgage fraud charges, were never indicted.

The Daily Mail in a Thursday report said that Trump believes Bondi tipped off Swalwell about the FBI’s efforts to release investigative documents related to his relationship with Chinese spy Fang Fang.

“She’s intervening in those matters. The White House wasn’t pleased she was intervening due to her personal friendship with Swalwell,” the source said.

Trump reportedly was also not happy with Bondi’s handling of the Epstein Files.

White House chief of staff Susie Wiles had previously told Vanity Fair in an interview published in December that Bondi had “completely whiffed” the Justice Department’s release of investigative materials on the deceased sex criminal.

Trump released a statement on Bondi’s firing on Thursday in a post to Truth Social:

Pam Bondi is a Great American Patriot and a loyal friend, who faithfully served as my Attorney General over the past year. Pam did a tremendous job overseeing a massive crackdown in Crime across our Country, with Murders plummeting to their lowest level since 1900,.

We love Pam, and she will be transitioning to a much needed and important new job in the private sector, to be announced at a date in the near future, and our Deputy Attorney General, and a very talented and respected Legal Mind, Todd Blanche, will step in to serve as Acting Attorney General. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP

Reports have circulated that Trump is considering tapping MAGA-aligned EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin as Bondi’s replacement.
